Le monotrope uniflore est une plante rare, délicate et éthérique de nos forêts appalachiennes du sud-est du Canada. Dénuée de chlorophylle et souvent confondue avec un champignon, cette plante de la famille des éricacées nous provient de l'âge tertiaire, il y a près de 3 millions d'années.

Dans la tradition autochtone, particulièrement chez le peuple Cherokee, le monotrope uniflore possède une riche histoire d'utilisation. Cette plante est connue sous plusieurs noms : Indian Pipe, Ghost Pipe, Ghostflower, en référence aux légendes et usages traditionnels des peuples autochtones.

Monotropa Uniflora is a rare, delicate and ethereal plant from our Appalachian forests in southeastern Canada. Growing naturally in many colonies on our woodland, we carry out responsible and careful wildcrafting without endangering the species' sustainability.
Traditional Uses
From the Ericaceae family and often mistaken for a mushroom, monotropa uniflora dates back to the Tertiary age, nearly 3 million years ago. This wonder of our Canadian summers has several traditional names such as Indian Pipe, Ghost Pipe, and Ghostflower, referring to legends and uses by Native American peoples, particularly among the Cherokee.
